A 2v2 MOBA battle arena that fits in your browser tab
Plops is what you get when you take the core of a lane-pushing card MOBA — decks, a hero you steer yourself, towers to crack — and compress it into three-minute matches that run anywhere a browser runs. Free, no install, real opponents.
The one-paragraph pitch
Two teams. Each player controls a leader directly — click or tap the ground to move, dash with a double-tap, aim their signature ability by dragging — while deploying units from a four-card hand drawn out of a deck they built. Units push lanes on their own; you decide where and when they enter. The Fresh Alliance (fruits and vegetables with strong opinions) fights the Junk Empire (candy and fried food with a budget). First to crack the enemy's towers, or ahead when the clock runs out, wins.
What "2v2" means here
- Ranked 2v2 queue — queue solo and get paired with a teammate, or bring your own.
- Duo queue — invite a friend, queue as a pair, get matched against another pair. Your duo stays a duo across rematches.
- Custom 2v2 rooms — private four-seat rooms with a shared ready check, for grudge matches with people you actually know.
- Ranked 1v1 and vs-bot — the ladder also runs 1v1, and a bot mode exists for learning cards without feeding a stranger your loss streak.
In 2v2 both players share the battlefield but keep their own decks and their own hero. The interesting decisions are the team ones: who plays the tank hero, who covers which lane, whose elixir is spent when the push comes.
Why matches are three minutes
Short matches aren't a compromise — they're the design. A three-minute match means a loss costs you three minutes, which means you'll actually experiment with decks; it means rematches are instant and mean something; and it means the ranked ladder is climbed in coffee breaks. The game is server-authoritative (the server simulates everything; clients just draw and predict), so there's no host advantage and nothing for a cheat to fake.
Decks, cards and progression
You collect cards, level them, and build decks around a leader. Progression is earned by playing: matches pay out toward packs and card shards. There's a shop where optional credit packs speed collection up — we wrote an honest page about exactly what money does and doesn't buy, because that question deserves a straight answer, not a footnote.
The look
Every glyph, unit, and effect in Plops is drawn procedurally on canvas — the shipped game contains zero image assets. That's why it loads fast enough to feel like a website and animates like a game. It's also part of how it's made: the whole game, art included, is code — written by a tiny team working with AI coding models, every line reviewed. More on that in AI games, without the slop.
